BCHC signed onto a letter led by the Coalition for Health Funding to address the detrimental effects of cutting non-defense program funding. Non-defense programs include scientific and medical research, medical care for veterans, environmental protections, assistance with housing and child care for low-income families, rural development, and many other programs for public health.
When adjusted for rising costs and population growth, non-defense discretionary appropriations have decreased in funding compared to 2010.
