Promoting voter participation should be a core objective in Healthy People 2030

The Big Cities Health Coalition shares the HHS Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (ODPHP)’s interest in promoting voter participation as a core objective in Healthy People 2030. Civic engagement is vital to building healthy, safe communities that promote and protect health. We therefore urge ODPHP to transition the measure from a research objective to a core objective as soon as possible.
