City Plans to Fight Opioids on all fronts with “HealingNYC” Plan

In response to a continuing rise in opioid overdoses and deaths, New York City Mayor Bill DeBlasio introduced HealingNYC, a citywide plan to combat the opioid epidemic. The plan provides funding to prevent opioid misuse and addiction, prevent opioid deaths, provide effective drug treatment and reduce the supply of opioids. One year after its implementation, data showed a flattening in the number of overdose deaths in New York City.
